How do I measure for the correct amount of home insulation?

We have tools to help you measure and determine how much insulation you need.

There is a step-by-step process on our site here.  In short, every space to be insulated should be measured (length x width = square footage) and the cavity depth should be noted for each area (Note a 2x4=3.5” and a 2x6=5.5").

Once you have the correct measurements, you can go to our Residential Insulation Calculator to determine the cost of the insulation as well as shipping. See this video for a brief description of the calculator.
